¹⁴ Jehovah will enter into judgment with the elders of his people, and the princes thereof: It is ye that have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses:

⁴ Is it for thy fear `of him' that he reproveth thee, That he entereth with thee into judgment?

² And enter not into judgment with thy servant; For in thy sight no man living is righteous.

⁶ But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment-seats?

³³ Hear another parable: There was a man that was a householder, who planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.

¹⁰ Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable?

² And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

¹ Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, that oppress the poor, that crush the needy, that say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink.

²⁷ As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxed rich.

⁷ For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.

² the mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;

³ the captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the expert artificer, and the skilful enchanter.

⁴ Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people `as' they eat bread, And call not upon Jehovah?

²³ For he needeth not further to consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.

⁹ There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, And take a pledge of the poor;

² There are that remove the landmarks; They violently take away flocks, and feed them.

³ They drive away the ass of the fatherless; They take the widow's ox for a pledge.

⁴ They turn the needy out of the way: The poor of the earth all hide themselves.

⁵ Behold, as wild asses in the desert They go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; The wilderness `yieldeth' them bread for their children.

⁶ They cut their provender in the field; And they glean the vintage of the wicked.

⁷ They lie all night naked without clothing, And have no covering in the cold.
