¹⁹ I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I, Jehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

¹⁶ Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; from the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit.

⁴ For thus saith Jehovah unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live;

¹ Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

² and he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: Jehovah is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

¹ Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and declare unto my people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

² Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.

³ Wherefore have we fasted, `say they', and thou seest not? `wherefore' have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find `your own' pleasure, and exact all your labors.

²³ By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth `in' righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

¹⁹ And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits and unto the wizards, that chirp and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? on behalf of the living `should they seek' unto the dead?

¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

⁵ Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that take refuge in him.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; But the prayer of the upright is his delight.

¹³ And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

¹⁴ And I will be found of you, saith Jehovah, and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places wither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again unto the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

¹³ Your words have been stout against me, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, What have we spoken against thee?

¹⁴ Ye have said, It is vain to serve God; and what profit is it that we have kept his charge, and that we have walked mournfully before Jehovah of hosts?

²⁶ And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is the Christ?

²⁸ Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great `day' of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

³⁸ He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.

³⁹ But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet `given'; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

²⁰ Jesus answered him, I have spoken openly to the world; I ever taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and in secret spake I nothing.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

⁵ Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

⁶ And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language.

⁷ And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying, Behold, are not all these that speak Galilaeans?

⁸ And how hear we, every man in our own language wherein we were born?

³ Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend `it' in your pleasures.

⁶ Hear, for I will speak excellent things; And the opening of my lips shall be right things.

¹ Doth not wisdom cry, And understanding put forth her voice?

² On the top of high places by the way, Where the paths meet, she standeth;

³ Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, At the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:

⁴ Unto you, O men, I call; And my voice is to the sons of men.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?

²⁰ Behold, I have received `commandment' to bless: And he hath blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

²⁹ The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

¹¹ For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off.

¹² It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?

¹³ Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?

¹⁴ But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

⁴ The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are justice: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.

⁸ Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Jehovah, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Jehovah your God; that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you for ever.

²² For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

¹⁰ And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

⁶ The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times.

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul: The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.

⁸ The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, `and' righteous altogether.

¹⁰ More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

²¹ She crieth in the chief place of concourse; At the entrance of the gates, In the city, she uttereth her words:

¹³⁷ TSADHE. Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, And upright are thy judgments.

¹³⁸ Thou hast commanded thy testimonies in righteousness And very faithfulness.

⁷ The works of his hands are truth and justice; All his precepts are sure.

⁸ They are established for ever and ever; They are done in truth and uprightness.

³² The meek have seen it, and are glad: Ye that seek after God, let your heart live.

¹³ But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Jehovah, in an acceptable time: O God, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness, Answer me in the truth of thy salvation.

⁶ This is the generation of them that seek after him, That seek thy face, `even' Jacob. Selah

⁸ This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.

⁹ But in vain do they worship me, Teaching `as their' doctrines the precepts of men.

⁶ Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near:

⁷ let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

⁹ Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the peoples be assembled: who among them can declare this, and show us former things? let them bring their witnesses, that they may be justified; or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

¹⁰ Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
