⁸ For I, Jehovah, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

³ Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

⁴⁰ and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

⁸ Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

⁹ Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods that ye have not known,

¹⁰ and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that ye may do all these abominations?

¹¹ Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, saith Jehovah.

²⁴ but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah who exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.

²¹ I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.

²² Yea, though ye offer me your burnt-offerings and meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts.

²³ Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

²⁴ But let justice roll down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

¹⁶ These are the things that ye shall do: speak ye every man the truth with his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates;

¹⁷ and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith Jehovah.

¹³ But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.

⁵ And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, `even' our Lord Jesus,

²¹ make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom `be' the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

¹¹ What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats.

¹² When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to trample my courts?

¹³ Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; new moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies,- I cannot away with iniquity and the solemn meeting.

⁵ Verily my house is not so with God; Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in all things, and sure: For it is all my salvation, and all `my' desire, Although he maketh it not to grow.

⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah: Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way.

⁹ The meek will he guide in justice; And the meek will he teach his way.

¹⁰ All the paths of Jehovah are lovingkindness and truth Unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

¹¹ For thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.

¹² What man is he that feareth Jehovah? Him shall he instruct in the way that he shall choose.

⁸ I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will counsel thee with mine eye upon thee.

⁵ He loveth righteousness and justice: The earth is full of the lovingkindness of Jehovah.

²⁸ For Jehovah loveth justice, And forsaketh not his saints; They are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

⁷ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁵ Gather my saints together unto me, Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

⁴ The king's strength also loveth justice; Thou dost establish equity; Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob.

⁶ In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths.

²⁰ I walk in the way of righteousness, In the midst of the paths of justice;

²¹ But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the devoted things, to sacrifice unto Jehovah thy God in Gilgal.

²² And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because thou hast rejected the word of Jehovah, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

²⁴ And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
