²⁰ Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is laid waste: suddenly are my tents destroyed, `and' my curtains in a moment.

⁷ Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

¹⁹ Woe is me because of my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is `my' grief, and I must bear it.

²⁰ My tent is destroyed, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth from me, and they are not: there is none to spread my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

¹⁸ Let them be put to shame that persecute me, but let not me be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed; bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

⁶ And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden; he hath destroyed his place of assembly: Jehovah hath caused solemn assembly and sabbath to be forgotten in Zion, And hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

⁷ The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary; He hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces: They have made a noise in the house of Jehovah, as in the day of a solemn assembly.

⁸ Jehovah hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion; He hath stretched out the line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying; And he hath made the rampart and wall to lament; they languish together.

⁹ Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: Her king and her princes are among the nations where the law is not; Yea, her prophets find no vision from Jehovah.

⁴⁷ Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.

²⁵ Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

²⁶ Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumor shall be upon rumor; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

²¹ For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!

¹⁵ Alas for the day! for the day of Jehovah is at hand, and as destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

⁷ I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.

²⁸ And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁹ who shall suffer punishment, `even' eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

⁶ Set up a standard toward Zion: flee for safety, stay not; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

² Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.

¹⁸ And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

²¹ And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

²⁴ then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

²⁸ then I will walk contrary unto you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

⁴⁵ Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

¹⁹ And blessed be his glorious name for ever; And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen, and Amen.

⁶ Wail ye; for the day of Jehovah is at hand; as destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

²⁰ Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

⁹ but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

⁵ And Jehovah said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people; if I go up into the midst of thee for one moment, I shall consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
