⁸ And thou hast laid fast hold on me, `which' is a witness `against me': And my leanness riseth up against me, It testifieth to my face.

¹⁷ Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, And increasest thine indignation upon me: Changes and warfare are with me.

²¹ I went out full, and Jehovah hath brought me home again empty; why call ye me Naomi, seeing Jehovah hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?

²⁰ My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, And I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

¹⁵ And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.

²⁴ My knees are weak through fasting; And my flesh faileth of fatness.

¹⁶ Therefore will the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.

¹⁶ From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

²⁷ that he might present the church to himself a glorious `church', not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
