⁷ The steps of his strength shall be straitened, And his own counsel shall cast him down.

¹² When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; And if thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

³⁶ Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness:

⁶ It also shall be carried unto Assyria for a present to king Jareb: Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

³⁰ They would none of my counsel; They despised all my reproof.

³¹ Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, And be filled with their own devices.

³² For the backsliding of the simple shall slay them, And the careless ease of fools shall destroy them.

¹⁰ Jehovah bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought; He maketh the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.

¹⁶ Yea, he would have allured thee out of distress Into a broad place, where there is no straitness; And that which is set on thy table would be full of fatness.

²² In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: The hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.

⁶ Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; Yea, thine own lips testify against thee.

¹² He frustrateth the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

¹³ He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

¹⁴ And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absalom.

³¹ And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Jehovah, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.
