¹¹ Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, and they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.

¹⁵ Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.

⁷ Of Edom. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

¹¹ Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one a ring of gold.

² And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

¹¹ And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

¹⁵ These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the first-born of Esau: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

³² And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.

¹⁹ The caravans of Tema looked, The companies of Sheba waited for them.

¹⁷ A friend loveth at all times; And a brother is born for adversity.

²⁶ And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or `one' member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are illtreated, as being yourselves also in the body.

¹⁹ and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.

¹⁹ These two things are befallen thee, who shall bemoan thee? desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort thee?

¹⁰ Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.

¹⁴ To him that is ready to faint kindness `should be showed' from his friend; Even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.

¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

⁴ But ye are forgers of lies; Ye are all physicians of no value.

¹ Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

² I have heard many such things: Miserable comforters are ye all.

²⁰ My friends scoff at me: `But' mine eye poureth out tears unto God,

¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

¹⁹ All my familiar friends abhor me, And they whom I loved are turned against me.

²¹ Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; For the hand of God hath touched me.

⁷ And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

²⁴ He that maketh many friends `doeth it' to his own destruction; But there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down to Sheol to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.
