²⁸ He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, And my life shall behold the light.

²⁴ Then `God' is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.

²² Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, And his life to the destroyers.

⁹ Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark: Let it look for light, but have none; Neither let it behold the eyelids of the morning:

¹ And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.

² And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

³ and cast him into the abyss, and shut `it', and sealed `it' over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.

⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

¹⁷ Behold, `it was' for `my' peace `that' I had great bitterness: But thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption; For thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

¹⁸ For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

² The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

¹⁵ Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep shallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

²⁰ So that his life abhorreth bread, And his soul dainty food.

¹⁸ He keepeth back his soul from the pit, And his life from perishing by the sword.

²⁸ Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; And light shall shine upon thy ways.

¹⁶ It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, When once there is rest in the dust.

²⁰ Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, And life unto the bitter in soul;

¹⁶ Or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been, As infants that never saw light.
