³³ Shall his recompense be as thou wilt, that thou refusest it? For thou must choose, and not I: Therefore speak what thou knowest.

⁶ Whatsoever Jehovah pleased, that hath he done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;

³² If thou hast anything to say, answer me: Speak, for I desire to justify thee.

²⁶ accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.

² For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;

⁶ if so be that it is righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

⁷ and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,

³⁵ or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

²⁰ Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why didst thou make me thus?

¹² saying, These last have spent `but' one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.

¹³ But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling?

¹⁴ Take up that which is thine, and go thy way; it is my will to give unto this last, even as unto thee.

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or is thine eye evil, because I am good?

⁹ Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

³¹ Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: How much more the wicked and the sinner!

³⁰ If his children forsake my law, And walk not in mine ordinances;

³¹ If they break my statutes, And keep not my commandments;

³² Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes.

¹¹ Who hath first given unto me, that I should repay him? `Whatsoever is' under the whole heaven is mine.

¹¹ For the work of a man will he render unto him, And cause every man to find according to his ways.

⁵ If thou canst, answer thou me; Set `thy words' in order before me, stand forth.

⁴ Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, Shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?

³¹ Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; For vanity shall be his recompense.

¹² Behold, he seizeth `the prey', who can hinder him? Who will say unto him, What doest thou?
