²⁶ To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

³⁵ He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

²⁷ For he draweth up the drops of water, Which distil in rain from his vapor,

¹⁰ He sendeth forth springs into the valleys; They run among the mountains;

¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild asses quench their thirst.

¹² By them the birds of the heavens have their habitation; They sing among the branches.

¹³ He watereth the mountains from his chambers: The earth is filled with the fruit of thy works.

¹⁴ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, And herb for the service of man; That he may bring forth food out of the earth,

⁸ Who covereth the heavens with clouds, Who prepareth rain for the earth, Who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

⁹ He giveth to the beast his food, `And' to the young ravens which cry.

¹ The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God.

¹⁹ Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

²⁰ The beasts of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

²² Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Jehovah our God? therefore we will wait for thee; for thou hast made all these things.

⁷ For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God:

⁸ but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned.

¹⁸ I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

¹⁹ I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the fir-tree, the pine, and the box-tree together:
