³¹ We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and do his will, him he heareth.

²⁹ Jehovah is far from the wicked; But he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

⁹ He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.

¹⁵ And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

¹⁹ He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him; He also will hear their cry and will save them.

¹³ And it is come to pass that, as he cried, and they would not hear, so they shall cry, and I will not hear, said Jehovah of hosts;

²⁸ Then will they call upon me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me:

²⁹ For that they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of Jehovah:

⁴ Then shall they cry unto Jehovah, but he will not answer them; yea, he will hide his face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.

⁸ For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, When God taketh away his soul?

⁹ Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?

¹¹ Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry unto me, but I will not hearken unto them.

¹⁵ The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous, And his ears are `open' unto their cry.

¹⁶ The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

¹⁸ If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear:

¹⁹ But verily God hath heard; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

¹³ Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.

¹² There they cry, but none giveth answer, Because of the pride of evil men.

¹² When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt-offering and meal-offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

¹ Then said Jehovah unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

¹⁸ Therefore will I also deal in wrath; mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;

²² and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

⁴¹ They cried, but there was none to save; Even unto Jehovah, but he answered them not.

¹⁷ If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or `whether' I speak from myself.

¹⁵ and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

¹⁶ Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

¹⁷ Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

²² And Jehovah hearkened unto the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

²⁰ And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.

²¹ And Jehovah sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth from his own bowels slew him there with the sword.

⁸ Now therefore, take unto you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, that I deal not with you after your folly; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

⁶ Moses and Aaron among his priests, And Samuel among them that call upon his name; They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them.

²³ Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy `them'.

¹⁰ Teach me to do thy will; For thou art my God: Thy Spirit is good; Lead me in the land of uprightness.

⁹ Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

⁴¹ So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou heardest me.

⁴² And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the multitude that standeth around I said it, that they may believe that thou didst send me.

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the `evening' oblation, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

³⁷ Hear me, O Jehovah, hear me, that this people may know that thou, Jehovah, art God, and `that' thou hast turned their heart back again.

³⁸ Then the fire of Jehovah fell, and consumed the burnt-offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

²³ And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou consume the righteous with the wicked?

²⁴ Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

²⁵ That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

²⁶ And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake.

²⁷ And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, who am but dust and ashes:

²⁸ peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I find there forty and five.

²⁹ And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the forty's sake.

³⁰ And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

³¹ And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the twenty's sake.

³² And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the ten's sake.

³³ And Jehovah went his way, as soon as he had left off communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

⁸ I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.

⁷ Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God.
