¹³ And Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

²⁰ And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses had spoken: and he drove out thence the three sons of Anak.

⁶ So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went unto their tents.

⁵⁵ to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it;

⁵⁶ but the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

¹¹ And they gave them Kiriath-arba, `which Arba was' the father of Anak (the same is Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.

¹³ And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, `which Arba was' the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).

³⁶ And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:

³⁷ and they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls that were therein.

¹⁷ Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace; and the God of Israel grant thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
