⁷ and it went down from Janoah to Ataroth, and to Naarah, and reached unto Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.

²⁸ And their possessions and habitations were Beth-el and the towns thereof, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns thereof; Shechem also and the towns thereof, unto Azzah and the towns thereof;

⁴⁸ And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

¹ Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

²⁶ And Joshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: with the loss of his first-born shall he lay the foundation thereof, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
