²² And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come to complain unto us, that we will say unto them, Grant them graciously unto us, because we took not for each man `of them' his wife in battle, neither did ye give them unto them, else would ye now be guilty.

¹⁸ Howbeit we may not give them wives of our daughters, for the children of Israel had sworn, saying, Cursed be he that giveth a wife to Benjamin.

¹ Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpah, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter unto Benjamin to wife.

⁹ yet for love's sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus:

¹⁰ I beseech thee for my child, whom I have begotten in my bonds, Onesimus,

¹¹ who once was unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable to thee and to me:

¹² whom I have sent back to thee in his own person, that is, my very heart:

² But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

⁶ But from the beginning of the creation, Male and female made he them.

⁷ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife;

⁸ and the two shall become one flesh: so that they are no more two, but one flesh.

²⁵ It is a snare to a man rashly to say, `It is' holy, And after vows to make inquiry.

¹⁴ And Benjamin returned at that time; and they gave them the women whom they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh-gilead: and yet so they sufficed them not.

⁷ How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by Jehovah that we will not give them of our daughters to wives?

¹³ In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

²⁷ And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
