⁵ For they came up with their cattle and their tents; they came in as locusts for multitude; both they and their camels were without number: and they came into the land to destroy it.

¹² And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like locusts for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand which is upon the sea-shore for multitude.

¹⁰ Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the host of the children of the east; for there fell a hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.

³² And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter unto all winds them that have the corners `of their hair' cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them, saith Jehovah.

²⁹ Their tents and their flocks shall they take; they shall carry away for themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Terror on every side!

²³ They shall cut down her forest, saith Jehovah, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.

⁶ The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of Jehovah.

²⁰ It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall shepherds make their flocks to lie down there.

⁵ I am black, but comely, Oh ye daughters of Jerusalem, As the tents of Kedar, As the curtains of Solomon.

⁴ They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

⁵ For they have consulted together with one consent; Against thee do they make a covenant:

⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

⁷ Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

⁸ Assyria also is joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

⁹ Do thou unto them as unto Midian, As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

¹⁰ Who perished at Endor, Who became as dung for the earth.

¹¹ Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; Yea, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;

¹² Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession The habitations of God.

¹⁷ And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, who rode upon camels and fled.

²¹ Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us; for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took the crescents that were on their camels' necks.
