³ God hath delivered into your hand the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison with you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.

¹ A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger.

²⁴ And Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill-country of Ephraim, saying, Come down against Midian, and take before them the waters, as far as Beth-barah, even the Jordan. So all the men of Ephraim were gathered together, and took the waters as far as Beth-barah, even the Jordan.

²⁵ And they took the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian: and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond the Jordan.

³ `doing' nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any things save those which Christ wrought through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;

⁶ And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy, `let us prophesy' according to the proportion of our faith;

³⁷ For herein is the saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

¹⁵ By long forbearing is a ruler persuaded, And a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

¹¹ A word fitly spoken Is `like' apples of gold in network of silver.

³² He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.

¹⁴ Jehovah is my strength and song; And he is become my salvation.

¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous: The right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.

¹⁶ The right hand of Jehovah is exalted: The right hand of Jehovah doeth valiantly.

¹ Not unto us, O Jehovah, not unto us, But unto thy name give glory, For thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth's sake.

³ For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them; But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, Because thou wast favorable unto them.
