⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

⁵⁴ Now the centurion, and they that were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

¹⁹ And while he was sitting on the judgment-seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that righteous man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

¹³ And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such a remnant,

¹⁹ And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel, and make confession unto him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me.

²⁰ And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Of a truth I have sinned against Jehovah, the God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done:

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

¹⁹ but with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, `even the blood' of Christ:

⁷ Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

⁶⁹ But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.

⁷⁰ And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight:

¹⁹ I am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

²⁴ So when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye `to it'.

⁴ saying, I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood. But they said, What is that to us? see thou `to it'.

⁴ And I prayed unto Jehovah my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments,

³ And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of Jehovah their God a fourth part of the day; and `another' fourth part they confessed, and worshipped Jehovah their God.

¹² And when he was in distress, he besought Jehovah his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

⁴⁰ And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary unto me,

⁴¹ I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity;
