¹⁸ But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

⁹ He also that is slack in his work Is brother to him that is a destroyer.

¹³ The sluggard saith, There is a lion in the way; A lion is in the streets.

¹⁴ `As' the door turneth upon its hinges, So doth the sluggard upon his bed.

¹⁵ The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish; It wearieth him to bring it again to his mouth.

¹⁶ The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit Than seven men that can render a reason.

² Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, It is not the time `for us' to come, the time for Jehovah's house to be built.

³ Then came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,

⁴ Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth waste?

¹⁰ Oh that there were one among you that would shut the doors, that ye might not kindle `fire on' mine altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold, `here is' thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin:

¹² that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
