⁷ Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

²⁶ With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;

¹⁴ For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

¹⁵ But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

³² and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.

¹ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;

¹⁰ for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

³³ shouldest not thou also have had mercy on thy fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on thee?

³⁴ And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due.

³⁵ So shall also my heavenly Father do unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts.

¹⁷ He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah, And his good deed will he pay him again.

⁸ He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

¹ Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

² Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.

³ Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.

⁴ I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do `them' good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

¹³ For judgment `is' without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.

¹ Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.

²³ And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them that were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, `Thou art' my God.

²⁵ Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be trustworthy.

¹² Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering;

¹⁶ Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help `us' in time of need.

²¹ He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth; But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.

²⁷ Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

⁶ Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

⁷ Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

⁸ Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy healing shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of Jehovah shall by thy rearward.

⁹ Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

¹⁰ and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday;

¹¹ and Jehovah will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

¹² And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

¹⁷ The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

⁹ He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; His righteousness endureth for ever: His horn shall be exalted with honor.

⁴ Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: `He is' gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

²⁶ All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from `their' desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

¹⁷ Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;

¹⁸ (Nay, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And her have I guided from my mother's womb);

¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, Or that the needy had no covering;

²⁰ If his loins have not blessed me, And if he hath not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

²¹ If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, Because I saw my help in the gate:

²² Then let my shoulder fall from the shoulder-blade, And mine arm be broken from the bone.

⁶ And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And `Jehovah' said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them.

²⁵ And whensoever ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any one; that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

³⁰ For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:

¹³ though I was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: howbeit I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief;

¹⁶ howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his longsuffering, for an ensample of them that should thereafter believe on him unto eternal life.

¹⁶ The Lord grant mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;

¹⁷ but, when he was in Rome, he sought me diligently, and found me

¹⁸ (the Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day); and in how many things he ministered at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.

¹⁰ who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

¹ The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil `to come'.
