²⁶ And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

¹⁰ Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹¹ Behold, all they that are incensed against thee shall be put to shame and confounded: they that strive with thee shall be as nothing, and shall perish.

¹² Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contend with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

¹³ For I, Jehovah thy God, will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

¹⁴ Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith Jehovah, and thy Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, `shall he' not much more `clothe' you, O ye of little faith?

⁷ Who stilleth the roaring of the seas, The roaring of their waves, And the tumult of the peoples.

⁹ Thou rulest the pride of the sea: When the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

²⁸ Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

²⁹ He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

³⁰ Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

⁸ And Jesus perceiving it said, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have no bread?

⁴⁸ And seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them:

⁴⁹ but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;

⁵⁰ for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he straightway spake with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

⁵¹ And he went up unto them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves;

²⁴ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. And he awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

²⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And being afraid they marvelled, saying one to another, Who then is this, that he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him?

² and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left upon the earth;

²⁰ yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God,

³⁹ And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

⁴⁰ And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith?

⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

³⁰ But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.

³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

³ The floods have lifted up, O Jehovah, The floods have lifted up their voice; The floods lift up their waves.

⁴ Above the voices of many waters, The mighty breakers of the sea, Jehovah on high is mighty.

⁶ Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a vesture; The waters stood above the mountains.

⁷ At thy rebuke they fled; At the voice of thy thunder they hasted away

⁸ (The mountains rose, the valleys sank down) Unto the place which thou hadst founded for them.

⁹ Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; That they turn not again to cover the earth.

³ The sea saw it, and fled; The Jordan was driven back.

⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs.

⁵ What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back?

⁶ Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; Ye little hills, like lambs?

⁷ Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob,

²⁸ When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong,

²⁹ When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth;

² Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.

³ I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

⁴ The Lord Jehovah hath given me the tongue of them that are taught, that I may know how to sustain with words him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as they that are taught.

¹² that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

⁴ He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

⁸ Was Jehovah displeased with the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers, Or thy wrath against the sea, That thou didst ride upon thy horses, Upon thy chariots of salvation?

²⁷ And the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?

⁸ Or `who' shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, `as if' it had issued out of the womb;

⁹ When I made clouds the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddling-band for it,

¹⁰ And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors,

¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
