¹⁷ He that is soon angry will deal foolishly; And a man of wicked devices is hated.

²⁹ He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

²² An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.

¹⁹ Ye know `this', my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

⁹ Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry; for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

³² He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.

¹⁸ A wrathful man stirreth up contention; But he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

²⁶ For among my people are found wicked men: they watch, as fowlers lie in wait; they set a trap, they catch men.

²⁷ As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxed rich.

²⁸ They are waxed fat, they shine: yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they plead not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

²⁹ Shall I not visit for these things? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

⁷ And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

²⁴ Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; And with a wrathful man thou shalt not go:

¹⁶ A fool's vexation is presently known; But a prudent man concealeth shame.

² A good man shall obtain favor of Jehovah; But a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

¹⁸ A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,

⁵ Then spake the king Ahasuerus and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

⁶ And Esther said, An adversary and an enemy, even this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

⁶ But he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had made known to him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
