²⁷ A worthless man deviseth mischief; And in his lips there is as a scorching fire.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.

¹³ Behold, is it not of Jehovah of hosts that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

¹⁸ Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope;

¹⁴ In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.

¹² A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth;

⁴ If thou seek her as silver, And search for her as for hid treasures:

⁴ My soul is among lions; I lie among them that are set on fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.

² Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

³ Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah

⁴ Thou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.

¹⁴ From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is in `this' life, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

¹⁵ As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with `beholding' thy form. ¹⁷ Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his house: for he is such a worthless fellow, that one cannot speak to him.
