¹⁵ There is gold, and abundance of rubies; But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies: And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.

²⁹ Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear.

¹⁴ How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

¹⁵ and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

⁹ And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he pondered, and sought out, `and' set in order many proverbs.

¹⁰ The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly, `even' words of truth.

¹¹ The words of the wise are as goads; and as nails well fastened are `the words of' the masters of assemblies, `which' are given from one shepherd.

¹² `As' an ear-ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, `So is' a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

²⁴ Pleasant words are `as' a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

²¹ The wise in heart shall be called prudent; And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

¹⁶ How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

²³ A man hath joy in the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good is it!

⁷ The lips of the wise disperse knowledge; But the heart of the foolish `doeth' not so.

²⁰ The tongue of the righteous is `as' choice silver: The heart of the wicked is little worth.

²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many; But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

¹¹ For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it.

¹² But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

¹³ Man knoweth not the price thereof; Neither is it found in the land of the living.

¹⁴ The deep saith, It is not in me; And the sea saith, It is not with me.

¹⁵ It cannot be gotten for gold, Neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

¹⁶ It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, With the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

¹⁷ Gold and glass cannot equal it, Neither shall it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

¹⁸ No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal: Yea, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

¹⁹ The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
