¹⁵³ RESH. Consider mine affliction, and deliver me; For I do not forget thy law.

¹ Remember, O Jehovah, what is come upon us: Behold, and see our reproach.

¹⁶ I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

²⁰ See, O Jehovah, and behold to whom thou hast done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

¹ My son, forget not my law; But let thy heart keep my commandments:

¹⁵⁹ Consider how I love thy precepts: Quicken me, O Jehovah, according to thy lovingkindness.

¹⁴¹ I am small and despised; `Yet' do I not forget thy precepts.

¹⁰⁹ My soul is continually in my hand; Yet do I not forget thy law.

⁹⁸ Thy commandments make me wiser than mine enemies; For they are ever with me.

¹⁹ Consider mine enemies, for they are many; And they hate me with cruel hatred.

³ Consider `and' answer me, O Jehovah my God: Lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the `sleep of' death;

⁴ Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; `Lest' mine adversaries rejoice when I am moved.

¹³ Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; Behold my affliction `which I suffer' of them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death;

³² Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and lovingkindness, let not all the travail seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people that are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

⁸ and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
