¹¹ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

⁸ I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will counsel thee with mine eye upon thee.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; `But' the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

¹⁰ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do `his commandments': His praise endureth for ever.

³² Now therefore, `my' sons, hearken unto me; For blessed are they that keep my ways.

¹⁷ I love them that love me; And those that seek me diligently shall find me.

¹⁵ And that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you.

¹⁴ But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me; forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.

¹⁶ And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.

² And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them,

³ and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

⁹ Whom will he teach knowledge? and whom will he make to understand the message? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

¹⁰ Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

¹ Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

⁶ Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it.

²⁴ Now therefore, `my' sons, hearken unto me, And attend to the words of my mouth.

¹ Hear, `my' sons, the instruction of a father, And attend to know understanding:

¹ My son, if thou wilt receive my words, And lay up my commandments with thee;

² So as to incline thine ear unto wisdom, And apply thy heart to understanding;

³ Yea, if thou cry after discernment, And lift up thy voice for understanding;

⁴ If thou seek her as silver, And search for her as for hid treasures:

⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, And find the knowledge of God.

⁶ For Jehovah giveth wisdom; Out of his mouth `cometh' knowledge and understanding:

⁷ He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; `He is' a shield to them that walk in integrity;

⁸ That he may guard the paths of justice, And preserve the way of his saints.

⁹ Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, And equity, `yea', every good path.

¹⁶ Come, and hear, all ye that fear God, And I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
