¹⁹ Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

⁷ His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression: Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

⁸ But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part `shall be' in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

⁵ So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood is kindled by how small a fire!

⁶ And the tongue is a fire: the world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.

⁷ For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind.

⁸ But the tongue can no man tame; `it is' a restless evil, `it is' full of deadly poison.

⁹ Therewith bless we the Lord and Father; and therewith curse we men, who are made after the likeness of God:

¹³ Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:

¹⁴ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

² There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

⁵ And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.

³ For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.

⁴ None sueth in righteousness, and none pleadeth in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

³ Who have whet their tongue like a sword, And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,

⁴ That they may shoot in secret places at the perfect: Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁵ They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares privily; They say, Who will see them?

²¹ His mouth was smooth as butter, But his heart was war: His words were softer than oil, Yet were they drawn swords.

¹² For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have borne it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him:

² Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

³ Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah

⁴ Thou lovest all devouring words, thou deceitful tongue.

³ The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: He hath ceased to be wise `and' to do good.

⁴ He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; He setteth himself in a way that is not good; He abhorreth not evil.

² They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

³ Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

⁹ For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; Their inward part is very wickedness; Their throat is an open sepulchre; They flatter with their tongue.
