⁹ O let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish thou the righteous: For the righteous God trieth the minds and hearts.

²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.

²⁰ But, O Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the heart and the mind, I shall see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

²³ A man's goings are established of Jehovah; And he delighteth in his way.

⁹ And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Jehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

⁷ But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for `Jehovah seeth' not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.

² He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

¹ O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known `me'.

¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

¹² But, O Jehovah of hosts, that triest the righteous, that seest the heart and the mind, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

¹⁰ And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.

¹³ to the end he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

²⁵ Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal,

⁵ Thou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; Thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever.

⁶ The enemy are come to an end, they are desolate for ever; And the cities which thou hast overthrown, The very remembrance of them is perished.

¹⁵ Break thou the arm of the wicked; And as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

⁵ Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

² Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me; Try my heart and my mind.

²¹ Will not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

⁶ Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Jehovah.

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

¹¹ Why drawest thou back thy hand, even thy right hand? `Pluck it' out of thy bosom `and' consume `them'.

²² Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.

³⁸ And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.

⁹ He will keep the feet of his holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.
