²¹ Therefore Jehovah heard, and was wroth; And a fire was kindled against Jacob, And anger also went up against Israel;

¹ And the people were as murmurers, `speaking' evil in the ears of Jehovah: and when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled; and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them, and devoured in the uttermost part of the camp.

² And the people cried unto Moses; and Moses prayed unto Jehovah, and the fire abated.

³ And the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of Jehovah burnt among them.

¹⁰ And Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent: and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.

²² For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest Sheol, And devoureth the earth with its increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains.

³¹ When the anger of God went up against them, And slew of the fattest of them, And smote down the young men of Israel.

⁵ Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

¹¹ Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

⁵ Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
