²⁴ Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?

⁶ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with `him', that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

¹⁹ He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

¹¹ As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant I have set free thy prisoners from the pit wherein is no water.

¹² Turn you to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope: even to-day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.

⁴ Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

⁶ Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

¹³ for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

²⁶ And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for `us' with groanings which cannot be uttered;

⁸ For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell `us' in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

⁹ yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:

¹⁰ who delivered us out of so great a death, and will deliver: on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

⁷ And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.

⁸ Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

⁹ And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for `my' power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

¹¹ in whom ye were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ;

¹⁸ The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom `be' the glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁵ and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

⁴ and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.

⁴ And Jehovah said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.

¹ Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Jehovah.

² Lord, hear my voice: Let thine ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.

³ If thou, Jehovah, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

¹⁷⁶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek thy servant; For I do not forget thy commandments. Psalm 120 A Song of Ascents.

³⁸ what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, `or' by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

⁶ I am weary with my groaning; Every night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away Through my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture was changed `as' with the drought of summer. Selah

² For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore.

⁸ I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

⁹ Lord, all my desire is before thee; And my groaning is not hid from thee.

¹⁰ My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me: As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

¹¹ Saying, God hath forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.

¹² For he will deliver the needy when he crieth, And the poor, that hath no helper.

³ I remember God, and am disquieted: I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah

⁴ Thou holdest mine eyes watching: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

⁵ I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times.

⁶ I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart; And my spirit maketh diligent search.

⁷ Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be favorable no more?

⁸ Is his lovingkindness clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore?

⁹ Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah

⁵ Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

¹⁴ Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.

²⁰ To hear the sighing of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death;

²⁰ My soul breaketh for the longing That it hath unto thine ordinances at all times.

⁸¹ KAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation; `But' I hope in thy word.

⁸² Mine eyes fail for thy word, While I say, When wilt thou comfort me?

⁸³ For I am become like a wine-skin in the smoke; Yet do I not forget thy statutes.

¹³¹ I opened wide my mouth, and panted; For I longed for thy commandments.

¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me; `Yet' thy commandments are my delight.

²⁶ but unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbor, and slayeth him, even so is this matter;

²⁷ for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
