¹³ So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and he went in unto her, and Jehovah gave her conception, and she bare a son.

⁵ And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are these with thee? And he said, The children whom God hath graciously given thy servant.

³¹ And Jehovah saw that Leah was hated, and he opened her womb. But Rachel was barren.

³ Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; `And' the fruit of the womb is `his' reward.

¹¹ And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou sayest; for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a worthy woman.

⁹ He maketh the barren woman to keep house, `And to be' a joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.

⁵ They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; And they that were hungry have ceased `to hunger': Yea, the barren hath borne seven; And she that hath many children languisheth.

²⁷ For this child I prayed; and Jehovah hath given me my petition which I asked of him:

¹² and let thy house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which Jehovah shall give thee of this young woman.

²² And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.

²³ And she conceived, and bare a son: and said, God hath taken away my reproach:

² And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

²¹ And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren. And Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

¹⁷ And Abraham prayed unto God. And God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maid-servants. And they bare children.

¹⁸ For Jehovah had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.

¹ And Jehovah visited Sarah as he had said, and Jehovah did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

² And Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

³ And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
