³ Thine oils have a goodly fragrance; Thy name is `as' oil poured forth; Therefore do the virgins love thee.

¹ A `good' name is better than precious oil; and the day of death, than the day of one's birth.

³ Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

¹⁰ How fair is thy love, my sister, `my' bride! How much better is thy love than wine! And the fragrance of thine oils than all manner of spices!

¹⁴ She shall be led unto the king in broidered work: The virgins her companions that follow her Shall be brought unto thee.

²³ Take thou also unto thee the chief spices: of flowing myrrh five hundred `shekels', and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty,

²⁴ and of cassia five hundred, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin.

²⁵ And thou shalt make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.

²⁶ And thou shalt anoint therewith the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony,

²⁷ and the table and all the vessels thereof, and the candlestick and the vessels thereof, and the altar of incense,

²⁸ and the altar of burnt-offering with all the vessels thereof, and the laver and the base thereof.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.

²² Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,

²³ Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.

¹ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

¹⁴ But thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place.

¹⁵ For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish;

¹⁶ to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

² For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy: for I espoused you to one husband, that I might present you `as' a pure virgin to Christ.

⁹ Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;

¹⁰ that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of `things' in heaven and `things' on earth and `things' under the earth,

¹⁸ But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things `that came' from you, and odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

⁴ These are they that were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These `are' they that follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were purchased from among men, `to be' the firstfruits unto God and unto the Lamb.

⁵ Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

³ to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

¹⁹ And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of Jehovah before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

⁵ And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth,

⁷ keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear `the guilty', visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

⁷ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness: Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

⁸ All thy garments `smell of' myrrh, and aloes, `and' cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.

¹⁵ Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

¹⁶ In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted.

² It is like the precious oil upon the head, That ran down upon the beard, Even Aaron's beard; That came down upon the skirt of his garments;

⁹ Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; So doth the sweetness of a man's friend `that cometh' of hearty counsel.

⁶ Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all powders of the merchant?

⁵ I rose up to open to my beloved; And my hands droppeth with myrrh, And my fingers with liquid myrrh, Upon the handles of the bolt.

¹³ His cheeks are as a bed of spices, `As' banks of sweet herbs: His lips are `as' lilies, dropping liquid myrrh.

⁸ There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, And virgins without number.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

¹² And Moses said unto Jehovah, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found favor in my sight.
