⁴ Thou art fair, O my love, as Tirzah, Comely as Jerusalem, Terrible as an army with banners.

¹⁰ Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, Fair as the moon, Clear as the sun, Terrible as an army with banners?

² Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is mount Zion, `on' the sides of the north, The city of the great King.

¹⁷ And Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: `and' as she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.

² Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.

¹⁴ O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, In the covert of the steep place, Let me see thy countenance, Let me hear thy voice; For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

⁷ Thou art all fair, my love; And there is no spot in thee.

¹⁵ All that pass by clap their hands at thee; They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, `saying', Is this the city that men called The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

² And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁴ And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white `and' pure.

¹⁵ And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.

¹⁶ And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

²⁷ that he might present the church to himself a glorious `church', not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

⁴ (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),

²¹ And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

³³ In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, `and reigned' twenty and four years.

⁴ Man is like to vanity: His days are as a shadow that passeth away.

⁵ Bow thy heavens, O Jehovah, and come down: Touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

⁶ Cast forth lightning, and scatter them; Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.

⁷ Stretch forth thy hand from above; Rescue me, and deliver me out of great waters, Out of the hand of aliens;

⁸ Whose mouth speaketh deceit, And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

⁵ I am black, but comely, Oh ye daughters of Jerusalem, As the tents of Kedar, As the curtains of Solomon.

¹⁵ Behold, thou art fair, my love; Behold thou art fair; Thine eyes are `as' doves.

² I was asleep, but my heart waked: It is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, `saying', Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; For my head is filled with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.

¹³ Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil; and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper unto royal estate.

¹⁴ And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.

³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples; all that burden themselves with it shall be sore wounded; and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it.

⁵ How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel!

⁶ As valleys are they spread forth, As gardens by the river-side, As lign-aloes which Jehovah hath planted, As cedar-trees beside the waters.

⁷ Water shall flow from his buckets, And his seed shall be in many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.

⁸ God bringeth him forth out of Egypt; He hath as it were the strength of the wild-ox: He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, And shall break their bones in pieces, And smite `them' through with his arrows.

⁹ He couched, he lay down as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be every one that blesseth thee, And cursed be every one that curseth thee.
