⁹ Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.

¹⁰ For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up.

¹¹ Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm `alone'?

¹² And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

¹³ Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king, who knoweth not how to receive admonition any more.

³³ Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and `let' the wife `see' that she fear her husband.

¹⁴ and above all these things `put on' love, which is the bond of perfectness.

²⁸ Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:

²⁹ for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;

³⁰ because we are members of his body.

⁶ So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

²² Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favor of Jehovah.

¹⁸ Let thy fountain be blessed; And rejoice in the wife of thy youth.

¹⁹ `As' a loving hind and a pleasant doe, Let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; And be thou ravished always with her love.

²⁰ For why shouldest thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, And embrace the bosom of a foreigner?

²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of Jehovah; And he maketh level all his paths.

⁴ Love suffereth long, `and' is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

⁵ doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;

⁶ rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;

⁷ beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

⁸ Love never faileth: but whether `there be' prophecies, they shall be done away; whether `there be' tongues, they shall cease; whether `there be' knowledge, it shall be done away.

¹⁵ And did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? And wherefore one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
