⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah: Therefore will he instruct sinners in the way.

¹ I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;

² for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.

³ This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

⁴ who would have all men to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.

¹ It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High;

² To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night,

³ With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp.

⁴ For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

¹³ My son, eat thou honey, for it is good; And the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to thy taste:

¹⁴ So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul; If thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward, And thy hope shall not be cut off.

¹⁵ Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous; Destroy not his resting-place:

¹² So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.

²³ A man hath joy in the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good is it!

² For I give you good doctrine; Forsake ye not my law.

⁸ He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

¹¹ Wisdom is as good as an inheritance; yea, more excellent is it for them that see the sun.

²⁸ But it is good for me to draw near unto God: I have made the Lord Jehovah my refuge, That I may tell of all thy works. Psalm 74 Maschil of Asaph.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

⁵⁰ Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another.

¹ Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

²⁵ Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

²⁶ It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving:

⁵ for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.

⁶ If thou put the brethren in mind of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which thou hast followed `until now':

⁵ For Jehovah is good; his lovingkindness `endureth' for ever, And his faithfulness unto all generations. Psalm 101 A Psalm of David.

¹⁶ Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

² And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
