1 And the Lord said to Moses,
2 Ref Give orders to the children of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land which is to be your heritage, the land of Canaan inside these limits,)
3 Ref Then your south quarter will be from the waste land of Zin by the side of Edom, and your limit on the south will be from the east end of the Salt Sea,
4 Ref And round to the south of the slope of Akrabbim, and on to Zin: and its direction will be south of Kadesh-barnea, and it will go as far as Hazar-addar and on to Azmon:
5 Ref And from Azmon it will go round to the stream of Egypt as far as the sea.
6 Ref And for your limit on the west you will have the Great Sea and its edge: this will be your limit on the west.
7 Ref And your limit on the north will be the line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor:
8 Ref And from Mount Hor the line will go in the direction of Hamath; the farthest point of it will be at Zedad:
9 Ref And the limit will go on to Ziphron, with its farthest point at Hazar-enan: this will be your limit on the north.
10 And on the east, your limit will be marked out from Hazar-enan to Shepham,
11 Ref Going down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain, and on as far as the east side of the sea of Chinnereth:
12 Ref And so down to Jordan, stretching to the Salt Sea: all the land inside these limits will be yours.
13 Ref And Moses gave orders to the children of Israel saying, This is the land which is to be your heritage, by the decision of the Lord, which by the Lord's order is to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe:
14 Ref For the tribe of the children of Reuben, by their fathers' families, and the tribe of the children of Gad, by their fathers' families, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, have been given their heritage:
15 Ref The two tribes and the half-tribe have been given their heritage on the other side of Jordan at Jericho, on the east looking to the dawn.
16 And the Lord said to Moses,
17 Ref These are the names of the men who are to make the distribution of the land among you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun.
18 Ref And you are to take one chief from every tribe to make the distribution of the land.
19 Ref And these are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb, the son of Jephunneh.
20 Ref And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel, the son of Ammihud.
21 Ref Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad, the son of Chislon.
22 And of the tribe of the children of Dan, a chief, Bukki, the son of Jogli.
23 Of the children of Joseph: of the tribe of the children of Manasseh, a chief, Hanniel, the son of Ephod:
24 And of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, a chief, Kemuel, the son of Shiphtan.
25 And of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, a chief, Elizaphan, the son of Parnach.
26 And of the tribe of the children of Issachar, a chief, Paltiel, the son of Azzan.
27 And of the tribe of the children of Asher, a chief, Ahihud, the son of Shelomi.
28 And of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, a chief, Pedahel, the son of Ammihud.
29 Ref These are they to whom the Lord gave orders to make the distribution of the heritage among the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Ref Command the children of Israel, and tell them, When you come into the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to the borders of it),
3 Ref then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the side of Edom, and your south border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward;
4 Ref and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass along to Zin; and the goings out of it shall be southward of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall go forth to Hazar Addar, and pass along to Azmon;
5 Ref and the border shall turn about from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
6 Ref For the western border, you shall have the great sea and the border [of it]: this shall be your west border.
7 Ref This shall be your north border: from the great sea you shall mark out for you Mount Hor;
8 Ref from Mount Hor you shall mark out to the entrance of Hamath; and the goings out of the border shall be at Zedad;
9 Ref and the border shall go forth to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar Enan: this shall be your north border.
10 You shall mark out your east border from Hazar Enan to Shepham;
11 Ref and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;
12 Ref and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to the borders of it round about.
13 Ref Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh has commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half-tribe;
14 Ref for the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to their fathers' houses, have received, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received, their inheritance:
15 Ref the two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.
