Psalms 132

1 Ref <A Song of the going up.> Lord, give thought to David, and to all his troubles;
2 Ref How he made an oath to the Lord, and gave his word to the great God of Jacob, saying,
3 Ref Truly, I will not come into my house, or go to my bed,
4 Ref I will not give sleep to my eyes, or rest to my eyeballs,
5 Ref Till I have got a place for the Lord, a resting-place for the great God of Jacob.
6 Ref We had news of it at Ephrathah: we came to it in the fields of the wood.
7 Ref Let us go into his tent; let us give worship at his feet.
8 Ref Come back, O Lord, to your resting-place; you and the ark of your strength.
9 Ref Let your priests be clothed with righteousness; and let your saints give cries of joy.
10 Ref Because of your servant David, do not give up your king.
11 Ref The Lord gave a true oath to David, which he will not take back, saying, I will give your kingdom to the fruit of your body.
12 Ref If your children keep my word, and the teachings which I will give them, their children will be rulers of your kingdom for ever.
13 Ref For the Lord's heart is on Zion, desiring it for his resting-place.
14 Ref This is my rest for ever: here will I ever be; for this is my desire.
15 Ref My blessing will be on her food; and her poor will be full of bread.
16 Ref Her priests will be clothed with salvation; and her saints will give cries of joy.
17 Ref There I will make the horn of David fertile: I have made ready a light for my king.
18 Ref His haters will be clothed with shame; but I will make his crown shining.

1 Ref > Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,
2 Ref How he swore to Yahweh, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 Ref "Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, Nor go up into my bed;
4 Ref I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids;
5 Ref Until I find out a place for Yahweh, A dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
6 Ref Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:
7 Ref "We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.
8 Ref Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; You, and the ark of your strength.
9 Ref Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!"
10 Ref For your servant David's sake, Don't turn away the face of your anointed one.
11 Ref Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
12 Ref If your children will keep my covenant, My testimony that I will teach them, Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."
13 Ref For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.
14 Ref "This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.
15 Ref I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 Ref Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.
17 Ref There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
18 Ref I will clothe his enemies with shame, But on himself, his crown will be resplendant."
