Romans 10
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
1 Ref Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is, that they may get salvation.
2 Ref For I give witness of them that they have a strong desire for God, but not with knowledge.
3 Ref Because, not having knowledge of God's righteousness, and desiring to give effect to their righteousness, they have not put themselves under the righteousness of God.
4 Ref For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who has faith.
5 Ref For Moses says that the man who does the righteousness which is of the law will get life by it.
6 Ref But the righteousness which is of faith says these words, Say not in your heart, Who will go up to heaven? (that is, to make Christ come down:)
7 Ref Or, Who will go down into the deep? (that is, to make Christ come again from the dead:)
8 Ref But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: that is, the word of faith of which we are the preachers:
9 Ref Because, if you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and have faith in your heart that God has made him come back from the dead, you will have salvation:
10 Ref For with the heart man has faith to get righteousness, and with the mouth he says that Jesus is Lord to get salvation.
11 Ref Because it is said in the holy Writings, Whoever has faith in him will not be shamed.
12 Ref And the Jew is not different from the Greek: for there is the same Lord of all, who is good to all who have hope in his name:
13 Ref Because, Whoever will give worship to the name of the Lord will get salvation.
14 Ref But how will they give worship to him in whom they have no faith? and how will they have faith in him of whom they have not had news? and how will they have news without a preacher?
15 Ref And how will there be preachers if they are not sent? As it is said, How beautiful are the feet of those who give the glad news of good things.
16 Ref But they have not all given ear to the good news. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has had faith in our word?
17 Ref So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
18 Ref But I say, Did not the word come to their ears? Yes, certainly: Their sound has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
19 Ref But I say, Had Israel no knowledge? First Moses says, You will be moved to envy by that which is not a nation, and by a foolish people I will make you angry.
20 Ref And Isaiah says without fear, Those who were not searching for me made discovery of me; and I was seen by those whose hearts were turned away from me.
21 Ref But about Israel he says; All the day my hands have been stretched out to a people whose hearts were turned away, and who put themselves against my word.

1 Ref Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved.
2 Ref For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Ref For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
4 Ref For Christ is the fulfillment{or, completion, or end} of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 Ref For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, "The one who does them will live by them."
6 Ref But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' (that is, to bring Christ down);
7 Ref or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)"
8 Ref But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;" that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
9 Ref that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 Ref For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 Ref For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."
12 Ref For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.
13 Ref For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."
14 Ref How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
15 Ref And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
16 Ref But they didn't all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
17 Ref So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 Ref But I say, didn't they hear? Yes, most assuredly, "Their sound went out into all the earth, Their words to the ends of the world."
19 Ref But I ask, didn't Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding I will make you angry."
20 Ref Isaiah is very bold, and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me. I was revealed to those who didn't ask for me."
21 Ref But as to Israel he says, "All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people."
