^{1 Ref} In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated in his place, high and lifted up, and the Temple was full of the wide skirts of his robe.

^{2 Ref} Over him were the winged ones: every one had six wings; two for covering his face, two for covering his feed, and two for flight.

^{3 Ref} And one said in a loud voice to another, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of armies: all the earth is full of his glory.

^{4 Ref} And the bases of the door-pillars were shaking at the sound of his cry, and the house was full of smoke.

^{5 Ref} Then I said, The curse is on me, and my fate is destruction; for I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of armies.

^{6 Ref} Then a winged one came to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from off the altar with the fire-spoon.

^{7 Ref} And after touching my mouth with it, he said, See, your lips have been touched with this; and your evil is taken away, and you are made clean from sin.

^{8 Ref} And the voice of the Lord came to my ears, saying, Whom am I to send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I, send me.

^{9 Ref} And he said, Go, and say to this people, You will go on hearing, but learning nothing; you will go on seeing, but without getting wiser.

^{10 Ref} Make the hearts of this people fat, and let their ears be stopped, and their eyes shut; for fear that they may see with their eyes, and be hearing with their ears, and their heart may become wise, and they may be turned to me and made well.

^{11 Ref} Then I said, Lord, how long? And he said in answer, Till the towns are waste and unpeopled, and the houses have no men, and the land becomes completely waste,

^{12 Ref} And the Lord has taken men far away, and there are wide waste places in the land.

^{13 Ref} And even if there is still a tenth part in it, it will again be burned, like a tree of the woods whose broken end is still in the earth after the tree has been cut down (the holy seed is the broken end).

^{2 Ref} Seraphs are standing above it: six wings hath each one; with two `each' covereth its face, and with two `each' covereth its feet, and with two `each' flieth.

^{3 Ref} And this one hath called unto that, and hath said: `Holy, Holy, Holy, `is' Jehovah of Hosts, The fulness of all the earth `is' His glory.'

^{4 Ref} And the posts of the thresholds are moved by the voice of him who is calling, and the house is full of smoke.

^{5 Ref} And I say, `Wo to me, for I have been silent, For a man -- unclean of lips `am' I, And in midst of a people unclean of lips I am dwelling, Because the King, Jehovah of Hosts, have my eyes seen.'

^{6 Ref} And flee unto me doth one of the seraphs, and in his hand a burning coal, (with tongs he hath taken `it' from off the altar,)

^{7 Ref} and he striketh against my mouth, and saith: `Lo, this hath stricken against thy lips, And turned aside is thine iniquity, And thy sin is covered.'

^{8 Ref} And I hear the voice of the Lord, saying: `Whom do I send? and who doth go for Us?' And I say, `Here `am' I, send me.'

^{9 Ref} And He saith, `Go, and thou hast said to this people, Hear ye -- to hear, and ye do not understand, And see ye -- to see, and ye do not know.

^{10 Ref} Declare fat the heart of this people, And its ears declare heavy, And its eyes declare dazzled, Lest it see with its eyes, And with its ears hear, and its heart consider, And it hath turned back, and hath health.'

^{11 Ref} And I say, `Till when, O Lord?' And He saith, `Surely till cities have been wasted without inhabitant, And houses without man, And the ground be wasted -- a desolation,

^{12 Ref} And Jehovah hath put man far off, And great `is' the forsaken part in the heart of the land.

^{13 Ref} And yet in it a tenth, and it hath turned, And hath been for a burning, As a teil-tree, and as an oak, that in falling, Have substance in them, The holy seed `is' its substance!'

^{6 Ref} Then flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

^{7 Ref} and he touched my mouth with it, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin forgiven.

^{8 Ref} And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me.

^{9 Ref} And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

^{10 Ref} Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they sea with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.

^{11 Ref} Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until cities be waste without inhabitant, and houses without man, and the land become utterly waste,

^{12 Ref} and Jehovah have removed men far away, and the forsaken places be many in the midst of the land.

^{13 Ref} And if there be yet a tenth in it, it also shall in turn be eaten up: as a terebinth, and as an oak, whose stock remaineth, when they are felled; so the holy seed is the stock thereof.
