Song of Solomon 6

King James Version (KJV)

1 Ref Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.

2 Ref My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.

3 Ref I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.

4 Ref Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.

5 Ref Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.

6 Ref Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them.

7 Ref As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks.

8 Ref There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number.

9 Ref My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.

10 Ref Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?

11 Ref I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished and the pomegranates budded.

12 Ref Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib.

13 Ref Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies.

Bible in Basic English (BBE)

1 Ref Where is your loved one gone, O most fair among women? Where is your loved one turned away, that we may go looking for him with you?

2 Ref My loved one is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to take food in the gardens, and to get lilies.

3 Ref I am for my loved one, and my loved one is for me; he takes food among the lilies.

4 Ref You are beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, as fair as Jerusalem; you are to be feared like an army with flags.

5 Ref Let your eyes be turned away from me; see, they have overcome me; your hair is as a flock of goats which take their rest on the side of Gilead.

6 Ref Your teeth are like a flock of sheep which come up from the washing; every one has two lambs, and there is not one without young.

7 Ref Like pomegranate fruit are the sides of your head under your veil.

8 Ref There are sixty queens, and eighty servant-wives, and young girls without number.

9 Ref My dove, my very beautiful one, is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the dearest one of her who gave her birth. The daughters saw her, and gave her a blessing; yes, the queens and the servant-wives, and they gave her praises.

10 Ref Who is she, looking down as the morning light, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, who is to be feared like an army with flags?

11 Ref I went down into the garden of nuts to see the green plants of the valley, and to see if the vine was in bud, and the pomegranate-trees were in flower.

12 Ref Before I was conscious of it, ...

13 Ref Come back, come back, O Shulammite; come back, come back, so that our eyes may see you. What will you see in the Shulammite? A sword-dance.
