^{1 Ref} Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years; and Yahweh said to him, You are old and well stricken in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

^{2 Ref} This is the land that yet remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites;

^{3 Ref} from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the border of Ekron northward, [which] is reckoned to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,

^{4 Ref} on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

^{5 Ref} and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad under Mount Hermon to the entrance of Hamath;

^{6 Ref} all the inhabitants of the hill-country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, even all the Sidonians; them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only allot you it to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

^{7 Ref} Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

^{8 Ref} With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Yahweh gave them:

^{9 Ref} from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon;

^{10 Ref} and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon;

^{11 Ref} and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;

^{12 Ref} all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (the same was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for these did Moses strike, and drove them out.

^{13 Ref} Nevertheless the children of Israel didn't drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.

^{14 Ref} Only to the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance; the offerings of Yahweh, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

¹⁵ Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

^{16 Ref} Their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba;

^{17 Ref} Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth Baal, and Beth Baal Meon,

^{18 Ref} and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

^{19 Ref} and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mount of the valley,

^{20 Ref} and Beth Peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,

^{21 Ref} and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

^{22 Ref} Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel kill with the sword among the rest of their slain.

²³ The border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and the border [of it]. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and the villages of it.

^{24 Ref} Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

^{25 Ref} Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah;

^{26 Ref} and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

^{27 Ref} and in the valley, Beth Haram, and Beth Nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and the border [of it], to the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and the villages of it.

²⁹ Moses gave [inheritance] to the half-tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

^{30 Ref} Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities:

^{31 Ref} and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

³² These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

^{33 Ref} But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance: Yahweh, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spoke to them.

^{31 Ref} and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

^{4 Ref} On the south: all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which is the property of the Zidonians, to Aphek, as far as the limit of the Amorites:

^{5 Ref} And the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, looking east, from Baal-gad under Mount Hermon as far as Hamath:

^{6 Ref} All the people of the hill-country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, all the Zidonians; them will I send out from before the children of Israel: only make division of it to Israel for a heritage, as I have given you orders to do.

^{7 Ref} So now make division of this land for a heritage to the nine tribes, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

^{8 Ref} With him the Reubenites and the Gadites have been given their heritage, which Moses gave them, on the east side of Jordan, as Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave them;

^{9 Ref} From Aroer, on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the town in the middle of the valley, and all the table-land from Medeba to Dibon;

^{10 Ref} And all the towns of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who was ruling in Heshbon, to the limits of the children of Ammon;

^{11 Ref} And Gilead, and the land of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah;

^{12 Ref} All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who was ruling in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he was one of the last of the Rephaim); these did Moses overcome, driving them out of their country.

^{13 Ref} However, the people of Israel did not send out the Geshurites, or the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath are living among Israel to this day.

^{14 Ref} Only to the tribe of Levi he gave no heritage; the offerings of the Lord, the God of Israel, made by fire are his heritage, as he said to him.

^{16 Ref} Their limit was from Aroer, on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the town in the middle of the valley, and all the table-land by Medeba;

^{17 Ref} Heshbon and all her towns in the table-land; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon;

^{18 Ref} And Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath;

^{19 Ref} And Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mountain of the valley;

^{20 Ref} And Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;

^{21 Ref} And all the towns of the table-land, and all the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who was ruling in Heshbon, whom Moses overcame, together with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the chiefs of Sihon, who were living in the land.

^{22 Ref} And Balaam, the son of Beor, the prophet, the children of Israel put to death with the sword.

²³ And the limit of the children of Reuben was the edge of Jordan. This was the heritage of the children of Reuben by their families, with its towns and its unwalled places.

^{24 Ref} And Moses gave their heritage to the tribe of Gad by their families.

^{25 Ref} And their limit was Jazer, and all the towns of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer before Rabbah;

^{26 Ref} And from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the edge of Debir;

^{27 Ref} And in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon, having Jordan for its limit, to the end of the sea of Chinnereth on the east side of Jordan.

²⁸ This is the heritage of the children of Gad by their families, with its towns and its unwalled places

²⁹ And Moses gave their heritage to the half-tribe of Manasseh by their families.

^{30 Ref} And their limit was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, and all Havvoth-Jair, in Bashan, sixty towns;

^{31 Ref} And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, towns of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, for half of the children of Machir by their families.

³² These are the heritages of which Moses made distribution in the lowlands of Moab, on the other side of Jordan in Jericho, to the east.
