Psalms 141
Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
1 Ref A Psalm, by David. O Jehovah, I have called Thee, haste to me, Give ear `to' my voice when I call to Thee.
2 Ref My prayer is prepared -- incense before Thee, The lifting up of my hands -- the evening present.
3 Ref Set, O Jehovah, a watch for my mouth, Watch Thou over the door of my lips.
4 Ref Incline not my heart to an evil thing, To do habitually actions in wickedness, With men working iniquity, Yea, I eat not of their pleasant things.
5 Ref The righteous doth beat me `in' kindness. And doth reprove me, Oil of the head my head disalloweth not, For still my prayer `is' about their vexations.
6 Ref Their judges have been released by the sides of a rock, And they have heard my sayings, For they have been pleasant.
7 Ref As one tilling and ripping up in the land, Have our bones been scattered at the command of Saul.
8 Ref But to Thee, O Jehovah, my Lord, `are' mine eyes, In Thee I have trusted, Make not bare my soul.
9 Ref Keep me from the gin they laid for me, Even snares of workers of iniquity.
10 Ref The wicked fall in their nets together, till I pass over!
Bible in Basic English (BBE)
1 Ref <A Psalm. Of David.> Lord, I have made my cry to you; come to me quickly; give ear to my voice, when it goes up to you.
2 Ref Let my prayer be ordered before you like a sweet smell; and let the lifting up of my hands be like the evening offering.
3 Ref O Lord, keep a watch over my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Ref Keep my heart from desiring any evil thing, or from taking part in the sins of the evil-doers with men who do wrong: and let me have no part in their good things.
5 Ref Let the upright give me punishment; and let the god-fearing man put me in the right way; but I will not let the oil of sinners come on my head: when they do evil I will give myself to prayer.
6 Ref When destruction comes to their judges by the side of the rock, they will give ear to my words, for they are sweet.
7 Ref Our bones are broken up at the mouth of the underworld, as the earth is broken by the plough.
8 Ref But my eyes are turned to you, O Lord God: my hope is in you; let not my soul be given up to death.
9 Ref Keep me from the net which they have put down for me, and from the designs of the workers of evil.
10 Ref Let the sinners be taken in the nets which they themselves have put down, while I go free.
