^{8 Ref} For finding fault, He saith to them, `Lo, days come, saith the Lord, and I will complete with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah, a new covenant,

^{9 Ref} not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day of My taking `them' by their hand, to bring them out of the land of Egypt -- because they did not remain in My covenant, and I did not regard them, saith the Lord, --

^{10 Ref} because this `is' the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, saith the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and upon their hearts I will write them, and I will be to them for a God, and they shall be to Me for a people;

^{11 Ref} and they shall not teach each his neighbour, and each his brother, saying, Know thou the Lord, because they shall all know Me from the small one of them unto the great one of them,

^{12 Ref} because I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawlessnesses I will remember no more;' --

^{13 Ref} in the saying `new,' He hath made the first old, and what doth become obsolete and is old `is' nigh disappearing.

^{8 Ref} For finding fault with them, he said, "Behold, the days come," says the Lord, "That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

^{9 Ref} Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; For they didn't continue in my covenant, And I disregarded them," says the Lord.

^{10 Ref} "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, And they will be to me a people.

^{11 Ref} They will not teach every man his fellow citizen,{TR reads "neighbor" instead of "fellow citizen"} Every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' For all will know me, From the least of them to the greatest of them.

^{12 Ref} For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more."

^{13 Ref} In that he says, "A new covenant," he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.

^{8 Ref} For, protesting against them, he says, See, the days are coming when I will make a new agreement with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah;

^{9 Ref} Not like the agreement which I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand, to be their guide out of the land of Egypt; for they did not keep the agreement with me, and I gave them up, says the Lord.

^{10 Ref} For this is the agreement which I will make with the people of Israel after those days: I will put my laws into their minds, writing them in their hearts: and I will be their God, and they will be my people:

^{11 Ref} And there will be no need for every man to be teaching his brother, or his neighbour, saying, This is the knowledge of the Lord: for they will all have knowledge of me, great and small.

^{12 Ref} And I will have mercy on their evil-doing, and I will not keep their sins in mind.

^{13 Ref} When he says, A new agreement, he has made the first agreement old. But anything which is getting old and past use will not be seen much longer.
