Jonah 2

1 Ref Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish's belly.

2 Ref And he said, I called by reason of mine affliction unto Jehovah, And he answered me; Out of the belly of Sheol cried I, `And' thou heardest my voice.

3 Ref For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.

4 Ref And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

5 Ref The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.

6 Ref I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; The earth with its bars `closed' upon me for ever: Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.

7 Ref When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah; And my prayer came in unto thee, into thy holy temple.

8 Ref They that regard lying vanities Forsake their own mercy.

9 Ref But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of Jehovah.

10 Ref And Jehovah spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

1 Ref Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish's belly.

2 Ref He said, "I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.

3 Ref For you threw me into the depths, In the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.

4 Ref I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'

5 Ref The waters surrounded me, Even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.

6 Ref I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: Yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God.

7 Ref "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.

8 Ref Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

9 Ref But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh."

10 Ref Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.

2 Ref And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

3 Ref For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

4 Ref Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

5 Ref The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

6 Ref I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

7 Ref When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

8 Ref They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

9 Ref But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

10 Ref And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
