¹ Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

^{2 Ref} Dominion and fear are with him; He maketh peace in his high places.

^{3 Ref} Is there any number of his armies? And upon whom doth not his light arise?

^{4 Ref} How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

^{5 Ref} Behold, even the moon hath no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight:

^{6 Ref} How much less man, that is a worm! And the son of man, that is a worm!

¹ And Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: --

^{2 Ref} The rule and fear `are' with Him, Making peace in His high places.

^{3 Ref} Is their `any' number to His troops? And on whom ariseth not His light?

^{4 Ref} And what? is man righteous with God? And what? is he pure -- born of a woman?

^{5 Ref} Lo -- unto the moon, and it shineth not, And stars have not been pure in His eyes.

^{6 Ref} How much less man -- a grub, And the son of man -- a worm!
