² And these were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;

²¹ Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

¹⁵ And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness unto all his people.

¹⁶ And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

¹⁷ and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;

¹⁸ and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada `was over' the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.

²³ Now Joab was over all the host of Israel; and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites;

²⁴ and Adoram was over the men subject to taskwork; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the recorder;

²⁵ and Sheva was scribe; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

²⁶ and also Ira the Jairite was chief minister unto David.

⁸ and Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

⁹ and Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

¹⁰ and Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest's office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem),

¹⁷ of Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of Aaron, Zadok:

²⁸ And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, `divers' kinds of tongues.
