⁸ Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were; but yield yourselves unto Jehovah, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever, and serve Jehovah your God, that his fierce anger may turn away from you.

¹⁰ Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Jehovah, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

⁹ And Jehovah said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

¹⁶ Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

¹³ For Jehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for his habitation.

¹⁴ This is my resting-place for ever: Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

¹⁰ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.

¹³ neither present your members unto sin `as' instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members `as' instruments of righteousness unto God.

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.

¹⁵ What then? shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? God forbid.

¹⁶ Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves `as' servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching whereunto ye were delivered;

¹⁸ and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness.

¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye presented your members `as' servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members `as' servants to righteousness unto sanctification.

²² But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.

²¹ But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

²² Servants, obey in all things them that are your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord:

²³ whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;

²⁴ knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.

¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God; and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall spread his tabernacle over them.

⁴⁹ He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, Wrath, and indignation, and trouble, A band of angels of evil.

¹⁷ Until I went into the sanctuary of God, And considered their latter end.

³¹ Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall haste to stretch out her hands unto God.

¹⁷ Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

¹⁵ And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

²⁶ Notwithstanding, Jehovah turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations wherewith Manasseh had provoked him.

²⁴ And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

¹¹ Now hear me therefore, and send back the captives, that ye have taken captive of your brethren; for the fierce wrath of Jehovah is upon you.

¹³ and said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for ye purpose that which will bring upon us a trespass against Jehovah, to add unto our sins and to our trespass; for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.

¹³ And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart against turning unto Jehovah, the God of Israel.

¹⁹ And they gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, `they offered' a ram of the flock for their guilt.

² So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory.

²⁴ They have seen thy goings, O God, Even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

¹³ Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; and him shalt thou serve, and shalt swear by his name.
