¹¹ And the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?

⁸ that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that discloseth to me when my son maketh a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or discloseth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

²¹ And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thy handmaid hath hearkened unto thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.

⁷ The steps of his strength shall be straitened, And his own counsel shall cast him down.

⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet, And he walketh upon the toils.

⁹ A gin shall take `him' by the heel, `And' a snare shall lay hold on him.

¹⁰ A noose is hid for him in the ground, And a trap for him in the way.

¹¹ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, And shall chase him at his heels.

⁴ For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together.

⁵ They saw it, then were they amazed; They were dismayed, they hasted away.

²⁰ But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.

²¹ There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

³ And when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

⁴ And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ should be born.

⁵ And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written through the prophet,

⁶ And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come forth a governor, Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.

⁷ Then Herod privily called the Wise-men, and learned of them exactly what time the star appeared.

⁸ And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search out exactly concerning the young child; and when ye have found `him,' bring me word, that I also may come and worship him.

⁹ And they, having heard the king, went their way; and lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

¹⁰ And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

¹¹ And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

¹² And being warned `of God' in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
