¹⁷ And he said, Be it far from me, O Jehovah, that I should do this: `shall I drink' the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

¹⁰ And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood, I will set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

³⁰ Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

⁵² The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

⁵³ Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.

⁵⁴ He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

²⁴ And he said unto them, This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.

²⁸ for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto remission of sins.

¹⁴ He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence; And precious will their blood be in his sight:

¹⁹ and said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with `the jeopardy of' their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.

³ And Naboth said to Ahab, Jehovah forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

²⁰ And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.

¹¹ Jehovah forbid that I should put forth my hand against Jehovah's anointed: but now take, I pray thee, the spear that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let us go.

³⁰ Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

¹⁸ Zebulun was a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death, And Naphtali, upon the high places of the field.

¹⁷ And he said, Far be it from me that I should do so: the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my bondman; but as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

⁴ But flesh with the life thereof, `which is' the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
