³² And they buried Abner in Hebron: and the king lifted up his voice, and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

¹⁷ Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, And let not thy heart be glad when he is overthrown;

²⁸ This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judges; For I should have denied the God that is above.

⁴ Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

¹² and they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of Jehovah, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

⁴¹ And when he drew nigh, he saw the city and wept over it,

⁴² saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
