¹ Ye are the children of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

²⁶ For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus.

⁸ That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.

⁵ that there came men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with meal-offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to the house of Jehovah.

⁶ Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them;

⁵ They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

²⁶ And it shall be, `that' in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, There shall they be called sons of the living God.

¹⁶ The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:

¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, `even' to them that believe on his name:

¹⁰ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, `Ye are' the sons of the living God.

²⁷ Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

²⁸ Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am Jehovah.

² Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.

¹⁰ In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

¹ Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and `such' we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

² Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.

⁴ The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.

²² And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born:

²³ and I have said unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and thou hast refused to let him go: behold, I will slay thy son, thy first-born.

⁶ I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High.

⁷ Nevertheless ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.

¹⁹ But I said, How I will put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of the nations! and I said, Ye shall call me My Father, and shall not turn away from following me.

⁵ Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is brought to nought, the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?

⁵² and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad.

¹⁸ And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

¹³ But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope.

¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

² that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose.
